Scouting provides young people with opportunities to participate in programmes, events, activities and projects that contribute to their growth as active citizens. Through these initiatives, young people become agents of positive change who inspire others to take action.
Scouts in Kenya are part of the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA), which is an educational, non-political movement that aims to develop young people in various aspects of life1. Some of the benefits of school scouts are:
- They learn to serve others, respect other people’s rights, promote peace and democracy, and love justice.
- They participate in environmental conservation and improvement projects, such as planting trees and making compost.
- They receive non-formal education that complements the core curriculum and enhances their skills and values.
- They belong to a local, national and international community of scouts that fosters friendship and cooperation.
We encourage our students to join the Scouts club as part of their extracurricular activities and for purposes of their social growth.
